The trailer of Song Joong-ki’s highly anticipated film My Name is Loh Kiwan is finally unveiled.

Adapted from Cho Haejin’s book I Met Loh Kiwan, My Name is Loh Kiwan tells the romantic journey of Loh Kiwan, a defector from North Korea (played by Song Joong-ki), and Marie, a skilled shooter (played by Choi Sung-eun).

The trailer begins with Loh Kiwan living a difficult life as a North Korean defector in a foreign land. It then shows Loh Kiwan leaving for Belgium to receive refugee status, which is his last hope in life. After losing her will to live, Marie crosses paths with Loh Kiwan and ends up taking his wallet. Their encounter leads them to the police station, where Marie discovers the sentimental value of the wallet as it is the only memento left by Kiwan’s mother. This realisation sparks an unexpected attraction towards Kiwan, seeing him as someone both alike and distinct from herself.

The trailer also Jo Han-chul who plays the role of Marie’s father and tells Loh Kiwan that his daughter is unstable and she needs someone stable by her side, not someone who is just as unstable as her.
