Pankaj Tripathi’s wife, Mridula Tripathi, recently shared her experiences regarding the challenges she faces in gaining acceptance from her mother-in-law due to cultural differences. In a heartfelt conversation with Atul Taishete for his YouTube podcast, she revealed that her marriage has been affected by longstanding traditions.
Mridula explained, “It’s still not acceptable. We aren’t blood relatives, but in our culture, it is unacceptable for a woman to be married into a family of a lower stature if another woman has already been married into a family of a higher stature.” She expressed that her mother-in-law remains upset about this cultural intermingling, stating, “My mother-in-law hasn’t accepted me to this day.”
Despite these challenges, Pankaj Tripathi has often praised Mridula for her unwavering support during his struggling years in Mumbai. He noted, “I did not have to sleep at Andheri station during my days of struggle only because of her.” Pankaj and Mridula, who met in college in 1993, got married on January 15, 2004, and share a daughter named Aashi.
