A mother appeared in court today after being charged with murder for allegedly killing her two young children and stabbing her husband at his workplace.

Veronique John, 49, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, appeared at North Staffordshire Justice Centre this morning to face charges of murder and attempted murder.

It comes after Mrs John’s children Ethan John, 11, and Elizabeth John, seven, were found dead with ‘significant injuries’ at their family home on Sunday June 11.

Mrs John then walked to her husband Nathan John’s workplace – a car wash five minutes away – wearing a red dressing gown, and allegedly stabbed him.

The ‘doting and devoted’ father, named locally as Alex, was taken to hospital with a suspected stab wound to his stomach, before being released later that day.
