The company is finally going to have more options available in the market with Intel’s new processor

Microsoft has focused on Qualcomm with its Copilot Plus PCs till now but the company is ready to expand its availability and give buyers more options.

Microsoft has announced that their new Windows AI features will start arriving in the Intel and AMD notebooks in November. Until now, the Copilot Plus was limited to Qualcomm-powered devices but will now be available in a wide range of laptops. These features include Auto Super Resolution, a DLSS Competitor, Live Captions that can translate speech, Windows Studio Effects and Cocreator among others.

It said that devices packing the new Intel Core Ultra 200V and AMD Ryzen AI chips and running the latest version of Windows will receive Copilot Plus PC features as a free update.

Microsoft will be introducing the new AI features gradually. This means select features will be available on all devices, while others will only be available in Windows Insider testing before becoming widely available to more users.

On the other hand, the company is also planning to bring Recall AI features to the Copilot Plus PCs, after it was delayed due to security concerns.

The feature remembers what you do on your computer to provide more accurate answers. However, some were concerned that it knew too much, thus Micorosft had decided to postpone its intended release in July. The company is now planning to release it to Windows Insider testers in October, before rolling it out more broadly to Copilot Plus PCs.

Meanwhile, AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series-powered Windows laptops are already available to purchase from the market, like the Asus ZenBook 16, HP OmniBook Ultra 14, Asus TUF A14 and others. At the same time Intel and its partners intend to introduce Core Ultra 200V/Series 2 processor-powered laptops in the coming weeks.

The Intel Core Ultra 200V series (Core Ultra Series 2) is claimed to be up to 50 percent more power efficient than Intel’s Core Ultra Series 1 (Meteor Lake) which debuted last year.

Additionally, laptops powered by the new Intel Core Ultra 200V series CPUs will be able to connect to up to three 4K monitors, with the Arc GPU delivering up to 67 trillion operations per second (TOPS). The company claims that the Core Ultra Series 2 chips have a total of 120 TOPS across the CPU (5 TOPS), GPU (48 TOPS) and NPU (67 TOPS).
