Mindy Kaling attended the Met Gala 2024 event wearing a sculptural outfit by designer Gaurav Gupta. As her pictures from the event surfaced on social media, people were quick to notice similarities between her outfit and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s 2022 Cannes Film Festival look.
Mindy donned a champagne-colored gown and followed the dress code of the 2024 edition of the event, The Garden of Time. During an interview at the red carpet, she noted, “The name of this dress is The Melting Flower of Time. It shows a bud and a blossoming flower that is now wilting.”
Many fans couldn’t help but notice that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was dressed in a similar figure-hugging gown. Her pastel-pink outfit was also designed by Gaurav Gupta as well. The long cape and big flower like structure in Mindy’s dress are similar to that of Aishwarya’s 2022 outfit.
The two dresses might have similar aesthetics because they were made by the same designer. However, they are completely different in terms of how the two stars carried them.
