Interestingly, only 3 per cent of his earnings come from the music industry, while the remaining 97 per cent stems from his exceptional business acumen.

Jay-Z rose to fame through his inspiring journey. Born in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects, a place known for its challenging environment, Jay-Z faced massive struggles in his initial days. From selling CDs to struggling to make a name in the music industry, Jay-Z has come a long way. In the 1990s, major record labels rejected him.
Rather than giving up, Jay-Z joined two other friends to co-found Roc-A-Fella Records in 1995. Being in control of his own fate was always his clear vision. In addition to receiving positive reviews from critics, his 1996 debut album, Reasonable Doubt, laid the foundation for his future financial success.
Later, Jay-Z ventured into the world of fashion in 1999. He launched his clothing line, Rocawear, which was loved by fans. By 2007, he sold the brand for a whopping $204 million while retaining a stake in its future growth.
Not only that, but Jay-Z also invested in luxury brands like D’Usse cognac and Armand de Brignac champagne. The musician also set up Roc Nation, an entertainment conglomerate.
