She is a 90s actress who started her career by promoting the handicraft products of her family business. Born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, she moved to Mumbai to find an advertisement agency to promote her family’s handicraft factory. During that time, she had the opportunity to sign with an ad agency to model for a saree brand. Shortly after that assignment, she became the face of several other brands. With these modelling opportunities, she gave up her interest in running the handicraft factory and fully entered the professional modelling world. She became so involved in this profession that she won the Eves Weekly contest in 1990. Soon after, she began taking assignments for international fashion shows.

She worked predominantly in Hindi films, as well as in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada films. Her first film role came in Sanjay Gupta’s ‘Ram Shastra’. She also appeared in the Telugu film ‘Pelli Sandadi’, the American film Inferno, and the Bollywood movie ‘Mann’. From 1995 to 1999, the actress struggled to deliver hits, but fate had other plans for her. In July 1999, she bagged a role alongside Aamir Khan, gaining recognition for her work. The movie Mann went on to cross Rs 35.45 crore at the box office.

It was 2002-2003 when Deepti became a household name with her first woman solo travel show ‘Yatra’. It was a religious travel guide show. The audience were crazy for her beauty and fashion as the she used to wear gorgeous sarees and jewellery. She also hosted Star Plus’ ‘Musafir Hoon Yaron‘ where she met the director of show Randeep Arya. They got married and have two sons.

His father Veerendra and Dharmendra’s brother Kanwar Ajit Singh ( Ajit Singh Deol) married two sisters on the same day. So Deepti is the daughter-in-law of Dharmendra.
