Margot Robbie sparks excitement for a possible sequel to Barbie with Ryan…

The upcoming film Barbie has generated a lot of buzz due to its impressive cast and the talented artists contributing to the soundtrack. Even though the fantasy comedy has not been released yet, fans are already speculating about the potential for a sequel to this highly anticipated Greta Gerwig-directed movie.

The film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie, Ryan Gosling and Simu Liu as Ken, among others. Recently, in an interview with a leading magazine, Robbie talked about Barbie and hinted about a possible sequel to the film. She said, “It could go a million different directions from this point. But I think you fall into a bit of a trap if you try and set up a first movie whilst also planning for sequels.”

In addition, she expressed her appreciation for the variety of Barbies available and indicated that she would not have enjoyed playing with just one type of Barbie. She said, “If [Mattel] hadn’t made that change to have a multiplicity of Barbies, I don’t think I would have wanted to attempt to make a Barbie film. I don’t think you should say, ‘This is the one version of what Barbie is, and that’s what women should aspire to be and look like and act like.”

She also revealed that the opening scene where she was standing on her toes, is similar to how Barbie dolls are usually posed. She mentioned that it required eight attempts to get it right. She clarified that she needed to grasp a bar in order to maintain the correct and precise position of her feet, with flexed toes.

The synopsis of Barbie reads, “To live in Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you’re Ken.”
