Man City fans bemoan Kevin De Bruyne’s ‘awful’ bad luck after the midfielder was forced off with an injury in the Champions League final for the second time
Fans have shared their sympathy for Kevin De Bruyne‘s ‘awful luck’ after the Man City midfielder was forced off with an injury during the Champions League final.
It is the second time he has had to leave the pitch during European football’s biggest fixture, after he picked up a knock in the 2021 UCL final.
He has been replaced by Phil Foden in a game they currently lead 1-0after Rodri’s opener.
‘Gutted for De Bruyne, unlucky twice’, tweeted a fan, while another said they ‘felt awful’ for the 31-year-old.
It wasn’t just fans of Pep Guardiola’s side that felt for him as `one tweet read ‘as much as I hate City that’s awful luck for De Bruyne.’

It is the second time he has left a UCL final early after also picking up a knock in 2021
He has been a key part of Man City’s treble push this season, scoring 10 goals in 48 games.
Some fans felt that the Cityzens chance of winning the trophy dell dramatically as De Bruyne left the pitch, as tweets suggested they had ‘lost’ the final already and that ‘we are in trouble.’
Others suggested he may be ‘allergic’ to UCL finals given he has now left the field during the first half both times he has played the fixture.
If City can hold on in Istanbul, they will replicate the 1999 Man United team in winning the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.

Standing in their way are Simone Inzaghi’s Inter, who are chasing a double after winning the Coppa Italia.
The Italian side are clear underdogs, but do have pedigree in the tournament after winning it three times in their history.
Their most recent success came in 2010, when the Nerazzurri won a treble of their own under Jose Mourinho.
Inzaghi is something of a cup final specialist and has won seven in his managerial career with Inter and Lazio.
