Actor Malavika Mohanan emphasises the need to shave off repetitive roles. The “Thangalaan” star is on a constant search for varied and demanding characters that allow her to flaunt her acting chops.

Actor Malavika Mohanan is gearing up for her next big-screen appearance, where she will be co-starring with Chiyaan Vikram in the much-awaited pan-Indian film ‘Thangalaan’, directed by the renowned Pa. Ranjith. This movie is already being pegged as one of the biggest Tamil releases this year. Recently, while promoting the film in Bengaluru, Malavika shared some insights about the challenges she faced while portraying Aarthi’s character, revealing what drew her towards the project.

Malavika said, “Doing the same kind of roles becomes monotonous and boring too. I was eager to work on good written roles by good filmmakers.” Talking about Thangalaan, the diva said, “Yes, I did think about Thangalaan as audiences had seen me in certain kinds of roles. However, eventually, I just wanted to crack the character.”
