Lorenzo di Bonaventura reveals why Transformers One origin fits animation

The Transformers franchise is set to return with Transformers One, an animated film taking fans back to the origin of Cybertron’s legendary heroes. Directed by Josh Cooley, this new entry will explore the beginnings of characters like Optimus Prime (formerly Orion Pax) and Megatron (D-16).

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who has worked on all eight Transformers films, explained why the origin story was perfect for animation. “We knew live-action wasn’t realistic for this story. Animation lets us create new worlds that feel fresh and organic,” he said.
