A 31-year-old man in Las Vegas was arrested after he was accused of killing a person at a bus stop in the city’s famous Las Vegas Strip area and then “eating” the victim’s face. The accused, identified as Colin Czech, told the police later that he was “possessed and fighting a shapeshifter”.
In a statement, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the incident took place on April 28 and at 4.44 am, it “received a report of a physical altercation between two males in front of a business in the 1100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard”.
“Patrol officers arrived in the area and located both individuals involved in the altercation. One of the males was unresponsive and bleeding from the head. He was later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The other male, later identified as 31-year-old Colin Czech, was taken into custody,” the police department added.
The victim was not identified by the police.
Regarding the incident, the police received two 911 calls within 45 minutes from employees of establishments near the crime scene.
While one caller said the accused was shouting and “appeared paranoid”, another said that he was “eating” the victim’s face.
Meanwhile, in one of two calls, leaked online, a 911 responder can be heard asking the caller, “Is he eating him right now?”. To this, the caller replies, “Yes, he’s eating him on his face”.
After his arrest, Czech was taken to University Medical Center because he was going “in and out of consciousness”, the Las Vegas Review Journal quoted the police as saying.
During a hearing on May 1 at the Las Vegas Justice Court, it was revealed that Czech told detectives at the hospital that he hadn’t slept for five days straight and “was hearing voices in his head” before the attack.
The accused further said that he had been in a “fight with a shapeshifter”.
When the detectives asked him how he attacked the victim, Czech said he ate the victim’s “ears and eyeballs with my teeth”.
He remained quiet during the hearing and is currently lodged at the Clark County Detention Center without bail, according to jail records.
