On August 9, Laapataa Ladies was screened at the apex court as part of a gender sensitisation program, attended by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, his partner Ms. Kalpana Das, and other distinguished guests. Kiran Rao, who was present alongside producer Aamir Khan, later took to Instagram to share her elation. “We had the unbelievable honour of screening our film Laapataa Ladies at the Supreme Court yesterday,” she wrote, expressing her deep gratitude to the CJI and his team. The screening commemorated the 75th year of the Supreme Court and was held in the court’s administrative auditorium.
