The highly anticipated film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is all set to hit the cinemas soon. The film is directed by Karan Johar and will mark his directorial comeback after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016. It features Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
As per the recent reports, Jaya Bachchan will be playing the role of Ranveer Singh’s manipulative grandmother.
In an interview with a leading news organisation, Karan Johar said, “She will be seen like never before. The entire team loves her. She was the life and breath on the sets. Every cast and crew member doted on her.”
Meanwhile, Shabana Azmi too praised her co-star Jaya Bachchan and said, “I was always a huge fan of Jayaji. I’ve seen her in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Guddi, Abhimaan and Mili umpteenth times. Working with her was an absolute pleasure. I didn’t know she was so much fun.”
Karan Johar announced the completion of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in March. He shared the news and some behind-the-scenes pictures on social media, thanking the cast and crew for their hard work and commitment to the film.
