Karan Johar reminisces crying in front of Salman Khan during the shoot of…

Karan Johar is presently relishing the triumph of his latest film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which features Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Additionally, he is occupied with the worldwide promotion of his upcoming project, Kill, helmed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat.

In a recent interview, Karan shared his experience of selecting actors for the K2H2 and the efforts he made to persuade Salman Khan to accept the role, especially after Chandrachur Singh and Saif Ali Khan turned down the part of Aman Mehra.

During a conversation with fashion designer Prabal Gurung for his recent NGO, Karan shared that he experienced a great deal of depression after Chandrachur Singh and Saif Ali Khan declined the opportunity. However, his spirits were lifted when he attended a party at Chunky Panday’s house and Salman approached him, mentioning that he had heard about Karan’s recent shopping endeavours. Salman emphasised the importance of confidence in the role and invited Karan to come and present the narration to him the following day.

Karan saw it as an excellent opportunity and obeyed Salman’s directions by reaching the Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai set at 8:45 a.m. for a 9 a.m. shift. The movie was produced by Ramesh S Taurani. Karan remembered, “He glanced at me and asked, ‘Are you out of your mind? He won’t arrive until 2.’ However, I was determined to do whatever it takes.”

Remembering the first day of the shoot, Karan said, “We were filming the song Saajanji Ghar Aaye and Salman came in wearing torn jeans and a black t-shirt. We had made a suit for him. I was very scared of Salman and I am still. At that moment, he said ‘You know what, no dulha has ever worn torn jeans and made it a trend. Though I said okay, I immediately sensed my blood pressure rising. At one point I told him that the set is very grand and Kajol is wearing this huge lehenga. But he said he wants to do this in a T-shirt. I reluctantly said no and then burst out crying in front of him. I started pleading with him to wear the suit saying that it was my first film. He quickly agreed to wear the suit and asked me to stop crying.”
