Kane unable: Bayern Munich’s newly signed England skipper cannot help his new team as side surrenders to 3-0 thrashing by RP Leipzig
Harry Kane was unable to rescue a win for Bayern Munich tonight after his team were thrashed 3-0 by RP Leipzig in the Supercup.
The England captain started on the bench against his team’s German rivals and came on in the 62nd minute after they conceded two goals in the first half.
However things only got worse for the striker after coming on at the Allianz Arena, as Leipzig scored another goal to increase their lead to three.
Kane missed out bagging his first piece of silverware for his new club following their agonising defeat.
The loss came as an anticlimax for Bayern fans who were heard chanting Kane’s name ahead of the match at the 72,000 capacity stadium which was sold out with fans frantically buying tickets in the run up to his transfer.

Earlier today, Bayern Munich fans bragged that they had scored a major victory over their English football rivals as they eagerly awaited Harry Kane’s debut.
Excited fans of the team gushed that they had ‘stolen’ the English captain from under English noses.
Andy Tremer, 43 who was attending the match with his father Dieter said; ‘England and Germany is one of the greatest football rivalries in the world and I can’t believe the England captain is here.
‘It’s wonderful for the whole of Germany not just Bayern Munich. We’re all excited to see Kane and feel honoured that his home is going to be here.’
Dieter added: ‘In 1966 the ball wasn’t over the line and it cost us the World Cup final. Now the England captain is playing in Germany. Perhaps that’s a bit of payback because Kane is now an honorary German.’
Season ticket holder Hans, who was attending the match with friends cried: ‘It’s 1-0 to Germany. Kane is a great player and what makes it sweeter is that we’ve stolen England’s captain from them.’
