Vice president Kamala Harris sold her San Francisco apartment for $860,000, a price that has not been previously reported. Forbes obtained a copy of the deed filed earlier this month, which showed that the vice president sold the place for nearly three times what it originally cost her.
Harris purchased the apartment in 1998 for $299,000. The 1,000-square-foot property, listed for $799,000, went into contract—for well-above the asking price—just nine days after it first hit the market, according to listing agent Anne Herrera of Sotheby’s International Realty.
Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, still have plenty of places to call home. They purchased a D.C. condo for $1.8 million in 2017, after she joined the U.S. Senate. They also own a 3,500-square foot home in Los Angeles. And, at the moment, they are living in the historic Blair House, across the street from the White House, while the official home of the vice president about two miles away undergoes renovations.
In 2019, Forbes estimated that Harris and Emhoff were worth a combined at $6 million, with about 40% of that tied up in real estate.
