Kajol said that her films Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham have ruined the festival of Karwa Chauth for all men and women.
Recently, in an interview with an entertainment portal, Kajol said, “Karwa Chauth in K3G and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has spoilt Karwa Chauth for all men and women. Now they have to wear good clothes. Earlier, it was just a simple ceremony. Suddenly Karwa Chauth became this big function, a fashion deal where everyone has to get dressed. Women have to wear jewellery, poori dukaan ban kar baith jaao bas. Bhookh bhi chalegi as long as you are looking good while you are starving.”
She further said that numerous women have approached her and confessed that they have ruined their Karwa Chauth. She also mentioned that people are curious about how famous people are observing the festival and even the paparazzi gather outside their residence to see if they have sighted the moon or not.
Kajol played the role of Simran in DDLJ and observed a fast for Shah Rukh Khan before their marriage. She dressed up in traditional attire and adorned herself with majestic jewellery to mark the occasion. In K3G, the festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur in London.
