Kajol on remaking Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge: “Magic of old films cannot…

The relationship between Raj and Simran was immortalised by Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan in their classic movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge 27 years ago. Many people continue to long for the kind of love that was represented on film. Kajol believes that the magic of earlier films cannot be recreated, despite the fact that many great films and their songs frequently have remakes in the present day.

Kajol stated in an interview that she doesn’t think the magic can happen again when asked to list her classic roles that may become a franchise or spin-off. She went on to say that the timeless films she has created so far could only have been made at that time and by those individuals.

She believes that every movie, regardless of how good or bad it is, has its own charm and chemistry. She believes that humans make mistakes when trying to imitate. She claimed that those films belonged to that era and that any subsequent attempts to create them would not be approved by her.

The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha, an Indian version of the American courtroom drama series The Good Wife, was directed by Suparn Verma, who also offered his opinion on the matter.

He then shared that people evolve over time which means the characters would also evolve. Citing Simran’s character from DDLJ, he said that if it was made today, Simran would be different today.

Kajol added to this by imagining Simran in the present and saying that she has left with Raj, has lived in London for 27 years, and would be fierce after that. “She’ll be like Bauji’s gone now, mom’s gone now. Because Baby can’t be alive now, so Bauji to gaye (laughs). Bohot alag hogi Simran,” Suparn remarked that she might have gotten a divorce as well, and Kajol nodded in agreement.
