India is celebrating its 78th Independence Day. The country achieved independence on August 15, 1947, after almost two centuries of British colonial rule. As we celebrate our 78th year of freedom, renowned actress Priyamani opened up about Independence Day and what it means to be free in the modern world. During an exclusive chat with Filmfare, the actress quipped about freeing the world from negativities, including conflict and brutality.
Priyamani offered a quick take on how cruelty has no place in the world. She noted, “One thing I would want the world to be free of is war and violence.” She noted that negativity should not be promoted in any way.
On the work front, Priyamani was last seen in Jawan. She also recently attended the 69th edition of Filmfare Awards South, where she cheered for the winners and spent some heartwarming times with South industry’s finest.
