Hunter Biden advising father Joe Biden, attending White House meetings: Report

US President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has reportedly been talking to senior members of the White House and his father’s top aides since the latter returned to the White House from Camp David, Maryland, on Monday evening.

According to a report with NBC News, Hunter Biden has been closely advising his father since the family gathered over the weekend at Camp David after the US Presidential debate.

Hunter Biden has also “popped into” a couple of meetings and phone calls the president has had with some of his advisers, the report said, quoting a source.

Meanwhile, the White House staff members were shocked to see Hunter Biden playing a role in his father’s work and meetings, a person familiar with the matter told the broadcaster.

“Hunter came back with the President from their family weekend at Camp David and went with the President straight into speech prep,” a White House spokesman Andrew Bates told NBC News, referring to Biden’s preparation with aides for remarks about the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity.

On the debate night, Biden’s verbal stumbles and occasionally meandering responses heightened voter concerns that he might not be fit to serve another four-year term and prompted some of his fellow Democrats to wonder whether they could replace him as their candidate for the November 5 US election.

Regardless of that, Biden said he intended to defeat Republican rival Donald Trump in the November presidential election.
