Cinema and cricket are the lifeblood of this nation and just like how people dream of watching their favourite cricket teams in theatres, fans of Bollywood are desperate to watch movies in cinemas again. Over the weekend, the Emraan Hashmi and John Abraham starrer Mumbai Saga released in theatres to a positive response. In fact, such was the desire to watch the movie that a massive mob of fans crashed a theatre in Malegaon, near Nashik in Maharashtra to watch the movie.
Abraham had earlier said that he was adamant about Mumbai Saga releasing in theatres even if it didn’t make much money. “(The film) won’t make as much money as movies did in 2019. All theatres across the country haven’t opened, but with this film, a few more will. After we announced this film, five more movies were announced (or theatrical run),” he told a leading daily.
