Take notes for me is a really useful feature powered by AI on Meet

Google Meet is getting a host of AI-powered features and taking notes has to be one of the most useful addition for users.

Are you struggling to take notes during a meeting with your manager? Well, Google has got your back. The tech giant’s latest ‘Take Notes for Me is an AI-powered feature designed to automatically jot down important notes from a meeting. It ensures that the participants can focus on the discussion without missing key points.

However, the meetings must be in English and can function on a computer or a laptop. Participants can automatically generate meeting notes while concentrating on collaboration, discussions, and presentations. Once the meeting concludes, these notes are saved in a Google Docs document, which is attached to the calendar event.

How To Use Google Meet Take Notes for Me Feature

– Open Google Meet on a computer or laptop.

– Select a meeting.

– At the top right of your screen, click the ‘Take notes with Gemini’ feature.

Once enabled, the feature captures key points and summaries of the meeting in real-time. If the meetings are recorded or transcribed, they are linked within the notes page to provide a complete record of the meeting.

These notes are generated shortly after the meeting ends and are neatly compiled in the Drive folder.

Whoever turns on the “Take Notes for Me” feature receives an email with a link attached to the generated meeting notes document.

The company has added another feature for those who join the meeting late. For instance, if an invitee joins the meeting 10 minutes after the session, they can catch up with a ‘summary so far’ feature and learn whatever happened so far.

Google Meet AI Feature Availability and Setup

The “Take Notes for Me” feature is available to Google Workspace customers who have the Gemini Enterprise add-on, AI Meetings & Messaging add-ons, and Gemini Education Premium add-on. This feature is turned on by default for admin, and can be managed at the organisational unit (OU) or group level.

End users can also enable the feature in advance through the Calendar invite, ensuring that meeting notes are captured automatically. The tech giant is gradually rolling out this new feature, and all Google Meet users will be able to access the feature in 15 days.
