Menaka Irani, the beloved mother of filmmakers Farah Khan and Sajid Khan, passed away at 79. She died on July 26, and the news of her passing came shortly after Farah shared on social media that her mother had undergone multiple surgeries. On August 5, Farah posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, celebrating her mother’s unique and loving nature.

Farah described her mother as a person who shunned the limelight but was deeply loved by all who knew her. “Despite the hard knocks she faced in her early life, she was a rare one who had no bitterness or envy towards anyone,” Farah wrote. She shared how Menaka’s humour and generosity touched many lives, including those who worked in their home, whom she often helped financially without expecting anything in return.

Farah expressed gratitude to everyone who supported them during this time, including the doctors and nurses at Nanavati Hospital. She poignantly added, “I want to celebrate her every day… grateful to the universe for letting her be my mother.”
