Famous cinematographer Gangu Ramsay Passes Away


Gangu Ramsay, a famous cinematographer and filmmaker of the Ramsay brothers, passed away at the age of 83 after battling several health issues over the past month. He passed away on Sunday morning at Kokilaben Hospital and is survived by his daughter Geeta Ramsay and son Chander Ramsay. The family conducted his last rites at Oshiwara Crematorium on the same day.

Gangu Ramsay was one of the seven Ramsay brothers. The brothers are known for their cult classic horror films such as Purani Haveli and Tehkhana. Under the Ramsay Brothers Banners, he contributed to more than 50 films, including Veerana, Purana Mandir, Bandh Darwaza, Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche, and Khoj.

The Ramsay brothers were known for their horror genre films, which often featured vampires, zombies, and werewolves. In addition to filmmaking, Gangu Ramsay worked as a cinematographer for Saif Ali Khan’s Aashiq Awara and several of Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi movies. He also made contributions to television shows such as The Zee Horror Show, Saturday Suspense, X Zone, and Nagin.
