Exclusive: Vedang Raina on working with Alia Bhatt in Jigra

In a recent episode of In The Rings with Filmfare, Vedang Raina discussed his enriching experience of working with Alia Bhatt on his upcoming film Jigra. When asked about what he learned from Alia, Raina shared, “So many things.” He elaborated, “I think we have two opposite approaches when it comes to acting. I went so much to learn from her because I was so in awe of how she was approaching things with so much conviction.”

Raina praised Alia’s impact on him, saying, “From the very first day, the first scene we had together, my first day of shoot was a scene with her and I realized what she is when I did that scene with her and why she is where she is.” He added, “So much to learn every day on set. I was trying, even when I was not doing a scene, to see what she was doing and what other actors were doing because there are a lot of senior actors in my film.”

Raina also touched on his experience with director Vasan Bala, stating, “Vasan Sir’s approach is so different from Zoya’s approach. It was a dream working with Vasan Sir and Alia.” He reflected on the lessons learned, “I came to the set prepared but realized Vasan Sir’s approach was to go with the flow. I became very comfortable improvising on set.”
Raina’s remarks highlight the contrast between the structured and spontaneous styles of his collaborators, contributing to his growth as an actor.
