Prashanth Neel’s Salaar starring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Shruti Haasan arrived in theatres last week. As the crowd-puller continues to make waves at the box office, Shruti has been making headlines. In an exclusive interview, the actress opened up about her experience working with Prabhas.
When asked if she was in awe of the star on set, Shruti said, “I wasn’t in awe because he doesn’t make people feel like that. His default setting is to make everyone feel at ease and make you comfortable. That’s the best way to describe it. He always wants to make people feel welcomed and loved. You don’t feel awe in that ‘star’ kind of way but what you do feel is overwhelmed by his goodness. There are so many times I’ve felt what a nice person he is.”
Recalling Prabhas’ sweet gesture while filming for Salaar, Shruti shared, “I remember this one time I fell ill during one of the schedules in 2022. I was hospitalised and there was a rule that you can only eat hospital food. Prabhas fought with them and said ‘She’s going to eat the food we eat at home so that she can heal and get better’. He had food sent every meal. And I know people might not think it’s a big deal. But it’s so thoughtful. They say that jo log khaana khilate hai unko bhagwan ki dua milti hai. I believe that with him.”
She further shared that he sent gifts to her boyfriend Shantanu Hazarika and her mother Sarika. She said, “If you tell him you like something, he will send it to you. I remember her gifted something to my partner [Santanu Hazarika] and I told him that my mum [Sarika] also liked it. He immediately sent it to her as well. And he isn’t like this just with his co-stars, he’s like this with everybody.”
Salaar is currently in theatres.
