During the tete-a-tete, Kanika opened up about Kriti Sanon’s role. The writer-producer noted, “I wrote the role with Kriti in mind. I genuinely believe it’s her career best, because she’s just outstanding.” Delving deeper, she added, “When you see Kriti, she has never done something like this before. I feel it was just something that was waiting to be explored on screen. Kriti has outdone herself. I’m really looking forward to the world experiencing these powerhouse performances in Do Patti.”
Kanika also revealed that she had planned to do a movie with Kriti, which did not happen eventually. “Kriti was cast before Kajol. We were discussing projects for a very long time. The film we were supposed to do together didn’t happen. But Kriti wanted to do something with me. That’s how Do Patti started from a one line to a story and I wrote a character for her,” she added.
