Here is a quick rundown of everything you need to remember from Season 2 of Bridgerton before you watch Season 3.
Lead characters: Where do they stand?
We left season two being excited for Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma but the leading pair of this season, Colin and Penelope, had an epic fallout. The story is supposed to pick up from the aftermath of Season 2’s Featherington Ball where Penelope heard Colin telling a group of bachelors that he would never “dream” of courting her. Moreover, Penelope’s friendship with Eloise Bridgerton was in shambles after the latter realized Penelope’s secret identity, a.k.a Lady Whistledown.
As for lovebirds Anthony and Kate, the makers have promised to delve into their married life in season 3. However, it would be interesting to know more about the storylines revolving around Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton, who was thriving in his art school last season.
Major plotlines
As mentioned earlier, Penelope and Eloise’s friendship sat in the ruins after the Featherington Ball. Eloise, who was hunting for Lady Whistledown throughout seasons 1 and 2 felt betrayed when she realized that her best friend Penelope was the notorious gossip writer all along.
Season 2 also saw Penelope writing a scathing article about Eloise’s visits with Theo, “unchaperoned, with improper company, political radicals in fact” to safeguard her from being falsely labelled as Lady Whistledown. The pamphlet diverted the Queen’s wrath but it ruined Eloise in front of the society.
Bridgerton season 3 is scheduled to release on an OTT platform in two parts. Part 1 will release on May 16 while Part 2 is slated to release on June 20.
