Actor turned activist Deep Sidhu had a major role to play in the violence that ensued on the occasion of Republic Day. As the protests stood discredited, the organisers of the so-called farmers’ protests desperately needed a scapegoat with Sidhu emerging as the chosen to be sacrificed. This led to Sidhu threatening to expose the organisers of the protesters. Now, in a concerning development for Rakesh Tikait, Yogendra Yadav and company, Delhi Police has arrested Deep Sidhu who is all set to reveal the nefarious design of the protests and take down his former colleagues with him.
On Tuesday morning, Delhi Police arrested Deep Sidhu from Zirakpur area between Chandigarh and Ambala. Sidhu was named in an FIR registered in connection with the Republic Day violence at the Red Fort.
“Deep Sidhu, an accused in 26th January violence case arrested,” said Delhi Police Special Cell. Praveer Ranjan, Special Commissioner of Police (CP), Crime, said, “On January 26 some people hoisted the flag at Red Fort. Some of them have been identified out of which Deep Sidhu is the prime accused.”
During his preliminary questioning, Sidhu revealed that he had asked his supporters to steal fleece jackets which were supposed to be given to volunteers for the rally. The supporters were told to breach the route and reach Red Fort at least if India Gate wasn’t possible.
Times Now reports that during his questioning while Sidhu denied any links with radical elements, however, the actor appears to believe in the hardline ideology.
Earlier as the noose began to tighten around his neck, Sidhu in a Facebook post said, “An arrest warrant has been issued against me and also a lookout notice has been issued against me. First, I want to give this message that I will join the investigation.”
He said he needed some time to bring out the truth. “Because whatever has been spread, it is false information and it is misleading the public at large. Therefore, I need a couple of days to bring out the truth and then I will join the investigation,” said Sidhu.

While pleading innocence of all that he has been charged off, Deep Sidhu said that he would appear before the investigating agencies and police within two days. “The kind of rumours being spread is not based on facts. I need two days to bring out the truth based on the facts and I will collect all the evidence and proof,” he said.
Now, with his arrest it is therefore clear that Deep Sidhu will not hesitate to completely expose the farm union leaders before the police, which will then facilitate an earth-shattering crackdown on them by security agencies.
