The light-filled space houses both a restaurant and a wine shop, all set within a lush garden. True to its name – Dara, meaning ‘home’ in Arabic – the restaurant was founded by Lana Alamat, Maher Mouasher and chef Sara Aqel, with a vision to showcase Jordan’s rich culinary heritage.
Before returning to Amman, chef Aqel honed her skills in Paris, Hong Kong and Dubai. She has designed a menu that celebrates seasonal ingredients and the craftsmanship of small-scale Jordanian farmers.
From house-made pastas and wood-oven pizzas to signature dishes like the seasonal bounty salad – an aubergine creation inspired by Gaza’s moussaka – Dara Dining’s menu evolves with the seasons. The wine list similarly champions producers who embrace environmental stewardship and sustainability.
Dara Dining collaborates with local artisans and community groups, using handcrafted plates, dairy from small producers and rock salt from Azraq, ensuring that every detail reflects Jordan’s rich culinary and cultural landscape.
