Congress president Kharge constitutes CWC ahead of key polls | India News



NEW DELHI: The Congress on Sunday constituted its top-decision making body CWC for the first time since Mallikarjun Kharge took charge as its president in October 2022.
The new Congress Working Committee (CWC) includes 39 members and has been constituted months ahead of crucial assembly elections in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

Besides Kharge, the CWC includes Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi ,Priyanka Gandhi and former PM Manmohan Singh.
Senior leaders like Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, AK Antony, Ambika Soni, Digvijaya Singh, Ajay Maken, Anand Sharma and P Chidambaram are also part of the key decision-making panel.
Notably, the CWC list includes the name of Sachin Pilot, who locked in a leadership tussle with Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot for several months.
Former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor are also included in the list.
Meanwhile, former Union ministers Veerappa Moily and Manish Tewari have been made permanent invitees.
