Colombo Weather Today: IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 Reserve Day Weather Updates | Cricket News

Rain gods once again had the last laugh on Sunday, when the Asia Cup ‘Super 4’ match between India and Pakistan at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo met bad weather and eventually got pushed into the reserve day (September 11).
Just before the India innings hit the halfway mark, rain came pelting down and left the ground in unplayable condition once it stopped, forcing the umpires to suspend the match, which will resume from the same stage on Monday.
The last match between the two traditional rivals in the group stage of the tournament at Pallekele was abandoned because of rain. India were 147/2 in 24.1 overs after being asked to bat, once Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bowl first.
India got off to a rollicking start with a half-century from each of their openers, Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58). But both were dismissed in the space of seven deliveries after putting together an opening stand of 121 runs in 16.3 overs.
While spinner Shadab Khan got rid of India captain Rohit, Gill was dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi.
When rain stopped play, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were at the crease, batting on 8 and 17, respectively.
However, rain threat continues to loom large over Colombo as suggested by the local weather forecast for Monday.

The match is scheduled to resume at 3 pm local time, which is also 3 pm IST.
