The trophy is also developed with the glorious heritage of the Chinese nation in mind as it has incorporated elements associated with a dragon, paying homage to the Year of the Dragon.

The 2024 season of the F1 is in full cry as three-time defending champion Max Verstappen goes in search of his fourth straight title after a strong start to the season.

The fourth race of the calendar, the Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled to take place over the upcoming weekend and there is a lot to take stock of at the Shanghai International Circuit besides the adrenaline-pumping racing action.

The race in China will feature a special trophy presented to the winner, modelled after the traditional laurel wreath of yesteryear. However, as a modern twist to the accolade, the noteworthy trophy is programmed to light up when adorned around the neck of the race winner.

The trophy, designed by Pininfarina of America, is also developed with the glorious heritage of the Chinese nation in mind as it has incorporated elements associated with a dragon, paying homage to the Year of the Dragon.

The twist motion of the circle is modelled after the movement of the mythical creature, while the pulse lighting programmed to course through the trophy is a nod to the breath of the dragon.
