Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated film Singham Again, set for a November 1 release, has undergone several edits as per the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). The CBFC has cut approximately 7 minutes and 12 seconds of footage, removing, or modifying specific scenes, including references to the Ramayana. According to reports, scenes juxtaposing characters like Lord Ram, Sita, and Hanuman with Singham (Ajay Devgn), Avni (Kareena Kapoor), and Simmba (Ranveer Singh) were altered or removed.
Additionally, a 16-second depiction of Raavan interacting with Sita and a reference to Hanuman’s Lanka-burning were removed to avoid any controversy. The CBFC also requested the modification of dialogue by Arjun Kapoor’s character, Zubair, in multiple scenes, along with Kareena Kapoor’s lines. Furthermore, visuals of a Constitutional head were deleted, as were scenes potentially affecting India’s diplomatic relations with neighbouring countries. The violent beheading scene in a police station was also blurred.
These changes, along with the deletion of a religious hymn and colour adjustments to a flag, has earned Singham Again a U/A certificate. The film stars a powerhouse cast, including Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, and others, and promises intense action despite these modifications.
