China is increasing its military, navy and railway network unchecked by any other sovereign power all over the world. It is creating underground bunkers for submarines and ships at the South China Sea so that they are not visible to United States’ and Russian satellites. It is sending ships to skim the Indian Ocean too. All this is resulting in the world being polarized against China with the United States and Australia taking a stand with India to send their warships to create a show of strength.
However, every bully has hubris — that fatal flaw that brings it down like a rotten oak.
China has two: The first is neglecting the human rights and basic needs of its minority populations such as the Uighur and Tibetans. Tibetans are not rightfully Chinese anyway.
The second is that China is opening up to India as a business partner.
It is this second mistake that will bring China to its knees.
If you notice, Indians will Indianize any society they inhabit. In Canada, 19 Indian origin Canadians occupy the Parliament. 54% of Indians in Canada have annual household incomes greater than $60,000, compared to the 46% Canadian average.
In the United Kingdom, chicken tikka masala is the favourite dish beating the traditional fish and chips by a long margin. The British version of biriyani is closer to a khichdi but close enough to call it an Indian upstart dislodging bacon and eggs.
Yes, that is true. Bacon and eggs have sadly been given a quiet and shameful burial throughout the ages at the United Kingdom.
Now, China is planning at railway line through Tibet down to the Nepal Bihar border so that trade with India will be expedited. It is evident that many Indians from northern Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh will catch this train either as stowaways or as legitimate passengers to take a ride to Shanghai and Shenzhen to spit on the streets, scratch their armpits and call that place home.
They will find a back alley to settle down and locate the cheapest noodle stall to eat at. They will eat the meat available for two Yuan and genuflect in front of a picture of a Hindu god to render themselves vegetarians every evening.
Very soon, they will start sending money back home not through the post office but in the form of a bundle with a fellow villager who would be hitch hiking on trucks going from Shanghai to the Tibet Nepal border and then taking a bus to Raxaul through Nepal.
Where Biharis go, Punjabis follow. In this case, a large Marwari and Punjabi population are already familiar with China. Once the rail route through Tibet is open and working, they will start visiting and using this route to import cargo to be sold in Calcutta and Lucknow.
If the volume grows even more, the cargo will be trucked to Hyderabad and New Delhi to find new buyers. Very soon, our Bihari brethren will be carrying with them news of the football clubs in China and their equivalent of Jose Mourinho and a pirated DVD of the latest movie such as Phobia from the Hindi film industry to be passed on as copies to newly made friends in China.
Now, the last bastion of China will fall as Biharis and eastern UPites carry asafoetida and ginger along with fresh green chillies to be added to the food they eat in China.
Our men from Samastipur, Darbhanga and Begusarai start marrying Chinese women, they will kiss them and ask them to make the dishes that their mothers made.
Very soon, the Chinese will be cooking and eating tubfulls of food, which will give them unplanned siestas and flatulence.
Do you think the Chinese Navy is going to be very effective if they way lay a Indian Navy ship and ask if they can spare some Kallonji and jeera? They desperately need some for their evening snacks.
Therefore, while they can, the Chinese should abandon their plans of opening up the Bihar Tibet railway route. Or else, it will be the last thing they do as an empire.
