Atletico Madrid have opened talks with Tottenham over a swoop for midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Mail Sport understands the Denmark international wants the opportunity to join the La Liga side, who will be playing in the Champions League next season.
Hojbjerg is a firm target for Atletico boss Diego Simeone who has instructed his recruitment staff to explore a move for the 27-year-old, who is also attracting interest from Germany.
So far Tottenham have shown an unwillingness to do business – but sources have indicated that discussions are ongoing to make the move happen.
Hojbjerg is believed to be actively open to moving to the Spanish capital this summer.
