Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz Ali’s daughters recall a traumatising incident

The duo were held hostage and kidnapped by their house help in Mumbai when they were children. ​​Aaliyah recalled how the woman put tape on their mouths and tied their hands to a chair during the robbery as the girls were freaking out.

Aaliyah Kashyap said that at that point, they were both living in the same building and since both their parents were going out together, the kids were at Anurag Kashyap’s house being watched over by Aaliyah’s maternal grandmother. The house help locked her grandmother in one room and tied them up to steal money and jewellery from the house.

However, the girls were saved because just 15 minutes into this experience, Aaliyah’s mother returned home as she had forgotten something at the house and walked in on them.
