Ananya Panday, Subhash Ghai and others pay tribute and condolences to…


Bollywood actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik who is known for his roles like Calender in Mr India, passed away at the age of 66, earlier this morning. The actor was in his car when he reportedly succumbed to a heart attack at around one am.

Many Bollywood celebrities such as Ananya Panday, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Arbaaz Khan, Neha Dhupia, Suniel Shetty, Sonu Sood, Farah Khan, filmmaker Subhash Ghai and others paid their tributes to the actor.

Taking to Twitter, Abhishek Bachchan wrote, “Shocked to hear of the passing of our beloved Satish Kaushik ji. A most gentle, kind and loving person. Always happy and smiling. A huge loss to our industry. Rest in peace dearest Satish uncle. We will all miss you.”




Neha Dhupia posted a picture and tweeted, “Thank you for the cinema, thank you for the laughs … rest in peace Satish Kaushik ji …. My love and strength to the family … #gonetoosoon.”

Ajay Devgn also posted a picture of the actor-director and tweeted, “Woke up to the sad news of Satishji’s (Kaushik) demise. I’ve shared laughs with him on & off screen. His presence filled a frame. In life too, whenever we met, he brought a smile to my face. Condolences to his family. RIP Satish Ji.”

Arbaaz Khan posted multiple pictures of Satish Kaushik with him and his brothers–Sohail Khan and Salman Khan. He wrote,”RIP Satish ji. You will be missed. Om Shanti.”

Meanwhile, Ananya Panday shared an Instagram story with a picture of Satish Kaushik and a heartbreaking emoji.

Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan also took to Twitter and wrote, “Shocked and heartbroken to hear our contemporary @satishkaushik2 is no more. Many of us met him for the first time while we were shooting Mandi. He was a jolly gentle soul always laughing. It’s very hard to believe he’s gone. RIP dear Satish, we will miss you terribly.”

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar took to Twitter and shared a picture of him with Satish Kaushik and tweeted, “I am so shocked to hear the demise of actor-director Satish Kaushik ji, who was always vibrant, energetic and full of life, he will be missed immensely by the film fraternity & millions of admires, My deepest condolences to his family members. #OmShanti. @satishkaushik2.”

While, Riteish Deshmukh wrote, “Can’t believe you are gone. Your hearty laugh still rings in my ears. Thank you for being a kind and generous co-actor, thank you for being a silent teacher. You will be missed, your legacy will live on in our hearts. #SatishKaushik ji #RestInPeace.”

Manoj Bajpaypee shared his condolences and wrote, “Completely shocked to read this! What a great loss for all of us and his family! Condolences to his family & friends! May you rest in peace Satish Bhai!”




Kareena Kapoor Khan also took to Instagram stories and shared a picture of him with the caption, “Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, Milenge Milenge. Extremely Heartbroken Satish ji…thinking of all our times together… Rest in laughter and peace.”

Filmmaker Subhash Ghai shared a picture and wrote, “It’s just shattering that we lost our one best friend #DEAR SATISH – a man who always laughed even in worst crisis and stood by anyone in his crisis “ A great artiste.Greater human being greatest friend I know left us so sudden so soon.

Urmila Matondkar also took to Twitter and wrote, “Shocked n saddened by the news of sad demise of a talented actor, director n a wonderful human being #SatishaKaushik ji. May his soul rest in peace. My deepest condolences to his family n friends. Om Shanti.”


Taking to Instagram stories, Vicky Kaushal stated, “Shocked. Saddened. The few times I met Satishji, we’ve only shared laughs and warmth. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P.”

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta took to his Instagram and shared a heartwarming note that stated, “Satish ji gone too soon. Don’t even know how to say that you will be missed dearly. Your hunger for better characters, your passion for stories and your love for life are irreplaceable. Our film together ‘Ek Director Ki Maut’ now is no longer a film. Om Shanti.”



Actor Ali Fazal who celebrated Holi with the actor also shared a heartfelt note, paying his tribute to the actor and wrote,” Just Daybefore i met you, we played holi.. we broke bread. Now you are gone. Just like that. Too soon . This wasn’t your time sir. I dont want to say Rest, your spirit was way too evolved and infectious. It will stay with us forever. I am just sorry and gutted for the people you leave behind who have loved you so dearly. Your friends and most of all your family.”



Priyanka Chopra Jonas paid her tribute and wrote, “Om shanti Satish sir. Papa and you will be talking and laughing as you always did. You will be very missed. Thank you for bringing so much laughter into our lives. Sending love, prayers and strength to the family.”

Salman Khan tweeted, “Always loved cared n respected him n shall alway remember him for the man that he was . May his soul rest in peace n strength to family n loved ones. .. #RIP Satish Ji.”




Actor Varun Dhawan also shared an Instagram story with a picture of Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher and David Dhawan with caption, “Rip salesman ramlaal.”

Sonu Sood took to Twitter, paid his condolences, and tweeted, “When I came to Mumbai, Satish ji was the first director I met. He was so warm and humble. Gave a few lessons of life that will always stay with me. RIP SIR. Will miss u always @satishkaushik2.”

Ronnie Screwvala also wrote, “RIP @satishkaushik2-young at heart, always smiling while bringing so much cheer to Audiences all over –   Gone at an age where he had so many more years of great work ahead of him      Just spent time with him few weeks back when we all worked together on #Chatriwali.”




Meanwhile, actress Rakul Preet Singh who worked with the actor in Chatriwali wrote, “Woke up to this terrible news.. life is so unfair.. Satish ji was such an energetic, enthusiastic, happy person.. I’m lucky to have worked with you in Chatriwali but who knew this was your last.. still processing it.. your contribution to cinema shall be always remembered sir.. RIP condolences to the family.”

Anil Kapoor also paid his tribute and wrote, “The Laurels of the industry have lost their Hardy…the Three Musketeers have lost the most talented, generous and loving Musketeer and I have lost my younger brother…gone too soon…I love you Satish.”

Satish Kaushik was born on April 13, 1956, and was an actor, director, and producer. He attended the National School of Theatre and the Cinema and Television Institute of India after graduating from Kirori Mal College. His acting credits include Ram Lakhan, Saajan Chale Sasural, Deewana Mastana, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Udta Punjab and more. He has also directed films such as Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Tere Naam, and Teree Sang, among others.
