Recently, rumours spread about Alia Bhatt being a part of Gurinder Chadha’s upcoming musical based on an Indian Princess in collaboration with Disney. However, director Gurinder Chadha clarified on X that the rumours are not true and that Alia Bhatt is not going to be a part of the project.
She wrote, “This is NOT TRUE. NOT SURE WHERE THIS STARTED. THE SCRIPT IS STILL IN THE WORKS. ALIA AND I HAD A MEETING ABOUT ANOTHER PROJECT, AND I ATTENDED HER CHARITY GALA RECENTLY.”
Gurinder Chadha, known for projects like Bend It Like Beckham and Bride and Prejudice, will next be headlining a musical film based on an Indian princess in collaboration with Disney.
In 2022, Disney approved an original musical inspired by a dynamic princess from Indian history, which will be directed and produced by Gurinder Chadha. However, details regarding the storyline are undisclosed.
Alia Bhatt, known for her versatile roles in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Brahmastra, will next be seen in Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War.
