Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s directorial venture, sports drama Lal Salaam, featuring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, has long been in production. The film, boasting an extended cameo by Superstar Rajinikanth, was slated for a Pongal release next year but might get pushed due to two other major films planning their release on the same occasion. While no official confirmation has emerged, speculation abounds.
Initially, it was hinted that Lal Salaam would hit screens on Pongal, with even Rajinikanth teasing its timely arrival in a special video on his X (previously Twitter). Concurrently, Sivakarthikeyan’s sci-fi venture Ayalaan, starring Rakul Preet Singh and helmed by R Ravi Kumar, is set for a Pongal release. Adding to the festive rush, Dhanush’s Captain Miller is also locked in for a Pongal debut.
On the Telugu front, significant releases like Ravi Teja’s Eagle and Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram are eyeing the Sankranthi date. However, official confirmations on potential postponements remain pending.
Aishwarya Rajinikanth, making her third directorial with Lal Salaam after 2015’s Vai Raja Vai, promises a sports drama. A recent video unveiled a sneak peek into the superstar’s character. The film boasts a proficient technical team including AR Rahman for music, Vishnu Rangasamy for cinematography, and B Pravin Baaskar for editing, along with a special cameo by cricketing legend Kapil Dev.
