After Nayanthara called out Dhanush, Vignesh Shivan slammed the actor and mocked his old video where he spoke about spreading love. For the uninitiated, Nayanthara revealed in an open letter to Dhanush that he denied permission to her to use footage from their film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan for the actress’ documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. After waiting for Dhanush to change his mind, the makers went with the re-edited version of the documentary. However, they used a three second BTS clip from the film in the trailer, which was shot in their personal devices and following this, Dhanush sent them a legal notice and demanded Rs 10 crore.
Vignesh shared Dhanush’s old video and attached the screenshot of the legal notice on it. The video is from 2017 and was recorded during the audio launch of the film Sakka Podu Podu Raja. Dhanush said during the event, “The love we have for one should not turn into hate for another. If it changes, there is no meaning for that emotion. The world is going towards a pathetic condition. There is so much negativity. Nobody likes it if another person is doing good in life. Live and let live. Nobody should hate another person.”
Sharing it, Vignesh wrote, “Vaazhu Vaazha udu ðÂÂÂðÂÂÂðÂÂÂðÂÂÂâ¤ï¸Ââ¤ï¸Ââ¤ï¸Ââ¤ï¸Â #spreadLove #OmNamaShivaya ðÂÂÂðÂÂÂðÂÂÂð at-least for the sake of some innocent die hard fans who believe all of this ! I sincerely pray to God ! For People to change ðÂÂÂðÂÂÂðÂÂÂð and find happiness in other people’s happiness â¤ï¸Âð”
Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was released in 2015 and it saw Nayanthara and Dhanush sharing screen space. It was directed by Vignesh Shivan.
After receiving the notice, Nayanthara wrote in her letter, “I am in receipt of your legal notice and we shall respond to it befittingly through lawful means. Your refusal to give NOC for the use of elements of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan for our Netflix documentary might be justified by you to the courts from the copyright angle but I wish to remind you that there is a moral side to it, which has to be defended in the court of God.”
Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale will be released on Netflix on November 18.
