Indian cinema’s biggest celebration – the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism took place last night. The gala honoured the best talents from the industry. Among those taking home the prestigious Black Lady were some of the finest actresses.
Alia Bhatt bagged the top honour as she won Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) for her hit performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. It is touted as a female-led film that drove box office numbers after the pandemic-induced lockdown.
Sheeba Chaddha who had not one, but two nominations won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Female) for her scene-stealing role in Badhaai Do.
The Best Actress (Critics’) award was a shared win by Bhumi Pednekar for her heart-winning role in Badhaai Do and Tabu for her work in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Meanwhile, Andrea Kevichusa won the Best Debut Female award for her role in Anek.
