The long-awaited collaboration between Abhishek Bachchan and director R Balki is set to premiere in theatres on August 18. The film, titled Ghoomer, will co-star actress Saiyami Kher in the lead role and will feature Abhishek Bachchan as a strict and tough cricket coach.
Abhishek Bachchan was most recently seen in the 2022 film Dasvi, alongside Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam. After a one-year hiatus, the actor is back with Saiyami Kher. Angad Bedi and Shabana Azmi also play important roles in the film.
Abhishek Bachchan posted the official release date announcement on his Instagram., “Lefty hai? Left hi hai. #GhoomerinCinemas on 18th August!”
R Balki, who describes Ghoomer as a unique cricket film, says his next directorial venture is his way of giving back to the sport. The story, which he co-wrote with Rahul Sengupta and Rishi Virmani, was inspired by the late Hungarian right-hand shooter Karoly Takacs, who won two Olympic gold medals with his left hand after his other hand was severely injured.
