Bollywood icon Aamir Khan has shared his future plans as he contemplates the final phase of his illustrious career. During a recent interaction with Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, after a special screening of Laapataa Ladies for Supreme Court judges, Aamir revealed his intention to shift focus from acting to producing films. Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao, is based on gender equality and tells the story of two brides who are mistakenly exchanged during a train journey.
Aamir, reflecting on the impact of the Covid-19 lockdown, acknowledged, “I realized this is the last leg of my career, and I wanted to give back. I thought I could do one film a year, but as a producer, I can back multiple stories that I feel strongly about.” At 56, Aamir hopes to make a meaningful contribution by producing four to five films annually, offering a platform to new writers, directors, and creatives.
With Laapataa Ladies marking the beginning of this new chapter, Aamir’s future projects promise to bring more compelling stories to the big screen, continuing his legacy in a different role.
