A Harry Potter TV series based on the original books by J.K. Rowling is in the works. The reboot series which will feature a new cast is reportedly nearing a deal.
As per multiple reports, the Harry Potter TV series will have seven seasons, each based on a book. The series will adapt the books from the beginning. If the project gets greenlit, new actors will step into the roles of Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley, played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in the hit film series. At present, there is no confirmation of the deal being closed.
The first Harry Potter film – The Sorcerer’s Stone arrived in cinemas back in 2001. Since then, there have been several films including the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
The reboot series comes with endless possibilities as the episodes will bring even more aspects of the wizarding world to life in a live-action format.
It is important to note that the latest Harry Potter update comes amidst author J.K. Rowling’s transphobia controversies. That being said, she will be a part of the upcoming Harry Potter series in some capacity.
