Ahead of South Indian superstar Rajinikanth’s 74th birthday on December 12, a new statue honouring him has been installed at the Arulmigu Sri Rajini Temple in Thirumangalam, Madurai. The statue portrays his iconic character from the film Mappillai, celebrating his unparalleled contributions to Indian cinema.
The temple, founded by Karthik, a retired Army officer and ardent fan of the actor, has been a dedicated space for Rajinikanth admirers to express their reverence. Since its inception, the temple has hosted daily prayers and special ceremonies in honour of the star. This year, the 3-foot tall, 300-kg statue replaces the previous one as part of the grand birthday celebrations.
Special rituals and prayers have been organized to mark this milestone. The temple remains a testament to Rajinikanth’s enduring influence and the devotion he inspires among his fans.
