The Danube Properties Filmfare OTT Awards 2024 concluded last evening with several artistes and technicians walking home with the prestigious Black Lady. Manisha Koirala won the Best Actor Series (Female) Drama Award for her role in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
After accepting the award, she said, “For me, Heeramandi was the biggest platform ever. I have done almost 100 films and when I first saw the sets of Heeramandi, I was so in awe. I was enamoured with the beautiful gorgeous set.”
The actress who has aced several characters was asked about her younger group of fans who were introduced to her acting prowess through the tough character of Mallikajaan in the series. She said, “It’s such a blessing to be loved by so many people and be relevant for today’s generation. It is so important for us as actors and artistes to be loved by for our work and I am hugely grateful.”

She also heaped praises on her Heeramandi co-stars. She said, “I wanted to share this with all my co-stars from Heeramandi. Sonakshi (Sinha) is literally ‘asli sona’. And Richa (Chadha) my goodness, what a performer she is and Sanjeeda (Shaikh), Aditi Rao Hydari, Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badushha and everybody.”
Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
