During a conversation with Vicky Lalwani’s YouTube channel, Saira Banu’s lawyer revealed that they are yet to make a decision. She said, “That’s not decided yet… It is yet to be decided… But some of them are adults, they are free to choose who they stay with (sic).”
The separation news of Rahman and Saira Banu remains unsolved, however, her lawyer went on to reveal that Rahman and Saira might look for reconciliation. Vandana Shah highlighted, “I have not said that reconciliation is not possible. I am an eternal optimist, and I always talk about love and romance. The joint statement is quite clear. It talks about pain and separation. It’s a long marriage and a lot of thought has gone into coming to this decision, but nowhere have I said that reconciliation is not possible (sic).”
Talking about alimony attached to their divorce, Vandana Shah remained tight-lipped and did not make any comment regarding the same. She further defended her client, Saira Banu, and said that she is not a greedy person.
AR Rahman-Saira Banu’s marriage
For the unversed AR Rahman and Saira Banu got married in 1995. The couple welcomed three children, Khatija and Rahima, and Ameen Rahman. Recently, the couple gave shocking news about their separation via a joint statement.
The statement read, “After many years of marriage, Mr.s Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr AR Rahman. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time. Mrs Saira requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time (sic).”
Several hours later, AR Rahman shared a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) where he addressed the separation news. ““We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter (sic),”wrote the Academy Award winner.
