US President-elect Donald Trump took a jab at Democrats with a parody video inspired by the classic 1989 holiday movie ‘Christmas Vacation’. Just hours after wishing everyone, including “Radical Left Lunatics”, a happy Thanksgiving, Trump posted the 35-second video on Truth Social.
In the video, President Joe Biden’s face is superimposed on Chevy Chase’s iconic character, Clark Griswold.
“If this turkey tastes half as good as it looks, I think we’re all in for a very big treat,” Biden’s character remarks.
California Representative Adam Schiff, portrayed as Cousin Eddie, responds, “Save the neck for me, Clark,” to which Biden replies, “OK, Adam.”
Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee who was defeated by Trump, appears as Cousin Eddie’s wife, Catherine, letting out her infamous laugh. Harris is known for her distinctive laughter, which was a talking point during the election season.
The video continues with first lady Jill Biden shown as Clark’s wife, Ellen Griswold, looking visibly uncomfortable, while Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sit together at the table. Pelosi takes a gulp of wine as the group watches Biden’s Clark carve the turkey, which hilariously crumbles from being too dry.
In the video, as Biden’s character cuts the Turkey, Trump’s character pops out of the carcass, performing his signature dance moves to the Village People’s YMCA, one of Trump’s go-to campaign rally songs.
In the parody, Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar laughs while Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez looks shocked next to her, as the song fades and the video ends.
Earlier in the day, Trump posted a Thanksgiving message, taking aim at political opponents.
“Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed,” he wrote on X.
Trump said their policies “hopelessly bad” and credited the “great people of our Nation” for a “landslide victory” for the MAGA movement.
He concluded his post with optimism. “Don’t worry, our Country will soon be respected, productive, fair, and strong, and you will be, more than ever before, proud to be an American!”
